Race Team

The Race Team is a student-run competitive team that regularly travels and competes against other schools in the southeast.  We are part of the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (or SAISA) which has fall and spring seasons.

We run a team practice once a week at Lake Lanier Sailing Club.  During practices, we focus on improving our racing skills and team building before upcoming regattas.

Our team travels to a regatta almost every weekend during both fall and spring semesters.  Check out some of the regattas we've been to and where we're going this semester.

About College Sailing

Our team is governed by ICSA and SAISA.  Because we are members of these organizations, we are eligible to compete in regional Points regattas, invitationals, and inter-conference regattas.

The Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) is the governing body for college sailing and includes all varsity and club teams from all over the country.  They run national championships for dinghy, singlehanded, team racing, and match racing.

SAISA is one of the seven conferences in ICSA.  Georgia Tech belongs to the South Atlantic Region, or SAISA.  In SAISA there are two subregions: North and South.  We are part of SAISA North.
